Albertsons Companies runs its business according to the highest ethical and legal standards.
We require all employees to conduct themselves and their business affairs accordingly and in a manner consistent with both the letter and spirit of all applicable laws and regulations (including those prohibiting unlawful discrimination or harassment) and these policies. Employees must deal fairly with the Company’s customers, suppliers, competitors and fellow employees at all times.
We foster accountability by providing clear channels for reporting unethical conduct. A confidential 24-hour hotline is offered where employees, vendors and others can report violations anonymously.
We respect individuals’ privacy and are diligent in our efforts to protect personal information and comply with applicable state and federal laws that promote and govern privacy protections for our employees and customers. These efforts are led by our Privacy Committee which is tasked with ensuring compliance and with the development and implementation of appropriate policies, training, and awareness programs on information protection.
In addition, we created an Information Security Team whose sole objective is to safeguard customer, stakeholder and employee information. The team is composed of information security experts, both within the company and outside, who are dedicated to ensuring that information, applications, systems and networks are protected from unauthorized access, modification, disclosure and usage.
At Albertsons Companies, we believe in accountability and fairness, and we have instilled those values into our corporate governance system. Our rules and practices ensure sound management of our company and build confidence among our customers and stakeholders.
We are governed by a 12-member board of directors that reviews and approves the company’s major financial objectives, plans and actions, according to our corporate governance policies. Robert G. Miller currently serves as our board chairman and as our Chief Executive Office. In order for the independent directors to participate meaningfully in the leadership of the Board, we have appointed Lenard B. Tessler to serve as our Lead Director.
